Co-owners Jessica and Joel Nevarez serve Mexican and Cuban takeout food daily and year-round with picnic benches for on-site, warm-weather eating. The menu will include street tacos filled with slow-cooked carnitas or grilled carne asada; Cuban-style arroz con pollo served with plantains; and weekend specials, such as the traditional Mexican soup called pozole.

It’s a crazy journey how we got here. Jessica was a nursing student and Joel was a Director at a casino in Southern California. Both busy people with no social life, we met online (EHarmony actually works), fell in LOVE and married a year after our first date. Three years later we decided to slow down and enjoy our lives together, so we packed up the family and moved to beautiful Vermont. Working two careers we found we were still too busy to truly enjoy this beautiful state with the family, so we got to thinking that we needed to do something different so we could be together. We’ve never done anything the “traditional way”, so we scraped together the little money we had, bought a shed and decided to make some of our family recipes handed down from our families. Joel’s dad (The-V) loved him some carnitas and carne asada and taught him everything he knew. Joel’s mom (Lolda), living in Cuba in her youth, learned many delicious recipes that she taught Jessica how to make. So, here we are, fortunate to be together everyday and to bring you a little bit of authentic deliciousness from Mexico and Cuba!
